Beliefs

I mean, well, beyond accepting the Apostle's Creed and the Nicene Creed.

We believe...

  • It is essential for the Christian life to submit fully to the authority of Bible as the Word of God.
  • It is a reality that the Holy Spirit will lead a believer into the truth, especially if he accepts the Bible as God's Word.
  • The Church is both visible and invisible.
  • There are visible bonds of communion, such as the seven sacraments, and being in visible communion with a priest, who in turn is in communion with a bishop, who, in turn, is in communion with See of Rome, the Bishop of Rome.
  • There are invisible bonds of communion, namely, Faith, Hope, and Charity
  • Evangelical communities, while not in full communion, are not outside of the Church.  They share all of the invisible bonds of communion along with some of the visible bonds of communion.
  • Catholic Social Teaching is co-equal with the Moral Teaching of the Catholic Church.  This gets fleshed out in the various Papal Encyclical which describe Catholic Social Teaching.
  • There are seven sacraments, but the sacraments are completely dependent on faith.
